Did
Benjamin have Total Lightning in Control, do you have?
In the middle of the 18th century
Benjamin
Franklin already proved that lightning is an electrical phenomenon. The
invention of the lightning conductor is based on his contribution.

Today it is common knowledge that
lightning
protection is more than just a cage consisting of an air termination,
down conductor and an earth termination system. In addition to the
protection of people inside of buildings and the prevention against
fire and mechanical destruction of buildings and systems, lightning
protection must also include the reduction of the lightning
electromagnetic fields.
Extensive use of electrical and
electronic
equipment in industry, administration and at home showed very soon that
conventional lightning protection solely was no longer sufficient.
Surge protection had become a necessity.
STATE OF THE ART FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEMS
At the beginning of 2006, the new IEC
standards on lightning protection, Parts 1 to 4 of the series IEC
62305 were published. Almost at the same time they became effective as
new European Lightning Protection Standards EN 62305-1 to 4.
ALEKTRAON BV Aarding &
Bliksemwerken applies these
standards to the design, installation, inspection and maintenance of
lightning protection systems. Our standard is #Safety
